Nectar Fusion Playground - May
About
Nectar Fusion Playground is a queer-led, culture-shaping space to explore creative expression and connection through the improvisational form of fusion partner dance, and beyond.
Here, we invite:
- Dancing together free of normative gender roles — you do you
- Honoring the function of form — come take a class, be mindful of our bodies in space
- Challenging ourselves from whatever level we're at — all are welcome
- Prioritizing attunement, play, and relating over transacting
- Taking care of ourselves and each other
- Practicing radical, enthusiastic consent
- Co-creating an inclusive and courageous environment to be real in
- Getting juiced so that we can continue to do the hard work of building a better world
This is a BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ friendly space. No racism, bigotry, or hateful speech or actions will be tolerated.
Cost
$25–35 sliding scale — pay at the door. Cash or Venmo @Nectar-Fusion.
We offer and encourage work trades in exchange for free entry for those who want to be part of the event or for whom cost is a barrier. NOTAFLOF — no one turned away for lack of funds.
Health
We care deeply about the health of our community. Please use your best judgment — do not come if you are feeling sick, know you could be carrying something transmittable, or have symptoms of something contagious. We encourage you to take a covid test before attending.
If you see someone dancing with a mask on and would like to dance with them, please check in to see if they would feel more comfortable if you were also wearing a mask.
Consent
We practice radical, enthusiastic consent. Check in before dancing with someone. Respect a no. Take care of each other.
